Paihia的簡略行程 ﹣
2013/03/23：早上從Auckland來到Paihia，下午參加了前往Hole in the Rock的船河。
2013/03/24：早上前往Waitangi Treaty Grounds遊覽，下午則步行往Opua Forest，傍晚時分開始返回Auckland。

紐西蘭的鐵路網並不發達，火車班次又疏落得可憐，因此城市間需要以長途巴士接駁。巴士公司有全國性的，也有地區性的，為求方便，我從其中一間全國性的巴士公司
Naked Bus購買了一張Pass（說是一張有點不恰當，因為一切都是電子化的），可以乘搭17程巴士。
沒有高速火車的接駁，紐西蘭的國境雖然看似並不廣闊，但是花在交通的時間也真不少，從Auckland到Paihia便得花上四個小時。
因此到達Paihia已經是中午時分，報了名參加下午的Hole in the Rock Dolphin Cruise後，二話不說，馬上跑進了碼頭旁的
35 Degrees South Aquarium Restaurant & Bar醫肚去。
這一份Green-lipped Mussels讓我對青口完全改觀，原來青口的肉是可以輕易咬斷的，而且還清甜之極。青唇？清淳！

肚子填飽了，也是時候上船了。
所謂Hole in the Rock，其實是一個在小島正中央天然形成的石洞，在大力催谷和宣傳之下，成為遊客趨之若鶩的景點。
整個旅程大約四個小時，幸好全程相安無事，並沒有暈浪。
第一個「景點」是Russell 拉塞爾，這是這個Bay of Islands 島嶼灣地區另一個規模比較大的小鎮，有遊客是從這裏上船的。

雖然旅程名叫Dolphin Cruise，但是我也沒有特別期望可以看到海豚，誰知離開Russell不久，導遊便向我們指出海豚出現的方向，不過真的太遠了，看得不太清楚。

這裏經常出現的情況時，一邊天氣晴朗，藍天白雲，另一邊卻烏雲密佈，快要下雨的樣子。

身處在石洞中時，奇妙的事情發生了，我彷彿聽到了合唱團詠唱聖詩的歌聲，可是我卻看不見其他遊客有什麼反應，是風聲給我的錯覺？還是我的幻聽？

要離開這個給我奇幻感覺的石洞了。

旅程原來還包括到Urupukapuka Island遊覽的部分，上了岸後，我們便自由活動，面對一片青綠色的土地，連呼吸也覺得頓時順暢了。
看到右手邊的那個人嗎？可以想像這棵樹有多高，有多大了吧？

結束旅程後，又是時候吃飯了，這次的餐廳是
Jimmy Jack's Rib Shack，這份Grand Kiwi Burger味道不錯。

第二天的主要行程是到Waitangi Treaty Grounds，從Paihia走過去大約要半個小時，沿途風景也相當不錯。
「歡迎來到Paihia」，我想那個牌上寫的是這個意思吧。

1840年的2月6日，40名毛利族的部落首長與英國的代表在Waitangi這個地方簽署了Waitangi Treaty，確立了英國人在紐西蘭這片土地上的主權（雖然當中存在著不少「誤會」），後來有更多的部落簽署了條約，一個新的國度就此誕生了。
OK，歷史就說這麼多夠了（希望我沒有表達錯誤），最初簽署條約的地方，現在已經化身為名叫Waitangi Treaty Grounds的旅遊景點。
木造戰筏 (War Canoe) 是毛利人的傳統工藝，Waitangi Treaty Grounds的這艘戰筏是全世界最長的，在每年的Waitangi Day（不錯，2月6號），這艘戰筏都會出航，紀念這個大日子。

Te Whare Rūnanga，英文譯作Meeting House，被毛利人視為神聖的地方，我想是他們族人集會的地方吧。Waitangi Treaty Grounds的Te Whare Rūnanga則是毛利人文化表演的場地。

文化表演由在室外歡迎訪客開始，然後會進入Meeting House裏，毛利人便會載歌載舞娛賓。

毛利人的歌曲配上結他伴奏，真的很有夏威夷風情，說他們的祖先是來自夏威夷附近的波利尼西亞地區，看來也不無道理。

看完表演，導賞團也結束了，我便開始在場地裏到處走走。
豎立旗桿的地方，就是當年條約最初簽署的地方。

步行返回Paihia後，又是開餐的時候，這是
Lip's Cafe的Prawn and Calamari Salad，還可以吧⋯⋯

之後開始前往Opua Forest尋幽探秘。
由於之後要按時乘搭巴士回Auckland，因此並不敢走得太入太遠，不過沿途的風景真的不錯。
途中經過一間B&B的招牌，感覺很是親切，以後還會有機會入住嗎？

看見照片中的昆蟲嗎？之後查出牠的名字是Puriri Moth，原來是一隻飛蛾。

我想這裏應該便是Paihia Lookout了，我在這裏休息時與一位老伯傾談了幾句，他問我來自什麼地方，我告訴他我來自香港（是，我沒有在後面加上中國⋯⋯），他竟然問我為什麼選擇留在香港，我帶點困惑地回答我是在香港出生和長大的。什麼？我不像香港人嗎？

下山後，要向Paihia這個地方說聲再見了，大約五點，我坐上前往Auckland的巴士，結束旅程的這一章。

Auckland 至 Paihia 交通
Naked Bus：Auckland Downtown (172 Quay Street) 至 Paihia (Bay of Islands) (Outside main ferry terminal building)，約3小時45分鐘。
